Competence for Enterprise Central Finland – learning as part of companies’ business

Competence for Enterprise Central Finland stuff

Competence for Enterprise Central Finland is development activity that allows companies in Central Finland to manage and implement measures to boost the expertise of their personnel not only more effectively than before but also as part of the company’s business development efforts.

Expertise manager as company partner
In Central Finland six expertise managers are on hand to support local enterprises. They form an additional resource which companies are wisely making use of. The added value contributed by an expertise manager is quickly visible, because the expertise manager assesses the expertise requirements of the enterprise or company network in question, identifies the right partners from a an extensive network of actors and selects the best forms of funding.

This generates not only savings of money, but also of time as the expertise manager supports the company at different stages of the development process and assists in choosing more efficient models of operation.

Learning enterprises enjoy success!
When learning becomes part of a company’s business development, it is so much easier to manage and implement the expertise development of company personnel in a deliberate, organised manner. In these circumstances future expertise needs and changing conditions are reflected in management of both learning and day-to-day business operations.

New ideas and approaches via networks
The activities of Competence for Enterprise Central Finland involve a total of 300 enterprises and 20 company networks in different branches. The largest number of networks has sprung up in information technology, but industrial enterprises as well as tourism and service branch firms also feature prominently. Networks promote learning, and also a chance to create novel forms of cooperation between companies.

Tight network of companies and developers
Our activities constitute part of regional development work in Central Finland, the purpose of which is to promote the competitiveness of local enterprises.

The developer network comprises enterprises throughout the region, Central Finland Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Association of Enterprises in Central Finland, development companies, the Regional Council of Central Finland, Jyväskylä College, Jyväskylä Institute of Adult Education, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, the University of Jyväskylä, Jämsä College, Northern Central Finland Learning Centre, TE Centre for Central Finland as well as TE offices.

Riitta Halme, Managing Director of Finn-Savotta, what kind of assistance did you seek from the expertise managers?

“An entrepreneur does not necessarily know where to find the right partners or even from whom to request help. After thorough discussion the expertise managers recognised our development needs and were able to find us the right partners for the purpose. If an entrepreneur attempts to do all these things alone then work is bound to suffer.”
